Reefer body on a JAC N80 chassis

category CCarrier Citimax 500side doordown to −20 °C
⚖ gross weight 7,950 kg❄ down to −20 °C

A medium-duty reefer. Refrigeration unit Carrier Citimax 500 — an engine-driven unit, so no separate fuel is needed. The control panel is brought into the cab: the temperature is visible on the move, with no stop and no open doors. There is a side door on the right and hinged doors with a folding ladder at the rear. Inside the body is lined with galvanised sheet. The JAC N80 is the same platform as the N75 and N90; only the permitted gross weight differs.

How this body is built

The vehicle is built on a JAC N80 chassis. The engine is Cummins ISF3.8, diesel. Gross weight 7,950 kg, so the driver needs a category C licence.

Body type — refrigerated body, sandwich panel.

The interior lining is galvanised sheet. Doors: hinged rear plus a side door on the right, a folding ladder.

The refrigeration unit is Carrier Citimax 500, engine-driven. Operating range: down to −20 °C.

Why it is built this way

Walls and ceiling are lined with galvanised sheet — the factory standard for a van body: it shrugs off moisture, takes a pallet-corner knock and is replaced in sections rather than whole panels.

A side door changes distribution logistics: at each stop you open it rather than the whole rear portal — less cold escapes and the truck can park tight against its neighbour.

  • Control panel Carrier in the cab
  • Latches the side door and lashing eyes for mounting cargo

Who it suits

A body with a refrigeration unit carries anything perishable: meat and fish, dairy, ready meals, flowers, medicines. The unit holds the set temperature while parked too, so the truck also suits distribution runs with long stops.

We will build the same — to your size and your chassis

This body is not a catalogue item but a project we actually built. We will make the same one to your dimensions: length, width and height are calculated for your cargo and the chassis payload, rather than fitting the cargo to a ready-made size.

We also fit it to your own chassis: bring the vehicle, we take the frame dimensions, build the body, mount it and hand it over with the conversion paperwork.

If you are still choosing a chassis, we have the same body on other bases as well: Chevrolet Labo, DongFeng C31, FAW 1027, GAZelle Business 3302. They differ in payload, frame length and licence category.

FAQ

FAQ about the JAC N80 reefer

Only in permitted gross weight: 7,490 kg on the N75, 7,950 kg on the N80 and 9,030 kg on the N90. The platform, the Cummins ISF3.8 engine and the body mounting points are identical, so a body moves between them without rework. The platform specifications are on the page JAC N90.
The Carrier Citimax 500 holds temperature to ±1 °C and is rated for a body of up to 20 m³ in the sub-zero duty. That is the choice for cargo where a couple of degrees off is already a write-off: pharmaceuticals, ice cream, chilled meat on a long haul. COND is the official Carrier dealer in Kazakhstan, so the warranty and service are with us. The model specifications are on the page Citimax 500 / D5.
No, the Citimax 500 is an engine-driven unit: the compressor is turned by the vehicle engine. There is no separate tank to fill, but there is also no cold when the engine is off. If the vehicle stands loaded at a dock for long stretches, we look at self-powered models from the Carrier range.
To see the temperature on the move. Without a panel the only way to check the duty is to stop and open the body, and every door opening is cold lost. On long-haul runs the panel pays for itself with the first order that is not ruined.
So you do not unload half the body for one box in the middle. On multi-stop rounds the cargo is loaded in route order, and the side door gives direct access to the middle of the body. On a narrow street it is also safer to unload from the pavement than from the carriageway.
Category C: the gross weight is 7,950 kg. If you have no category C drivers, look at the projects on light chassis — light trucks run on a category B licence.
The price is made up of the body and the unit. The unit is quoted from the Carrier price list, the body from its configuration: length, panel thickness, doors, interior fit-out. Leave a request or write on WhatsApp and we will send a quote. COND does not publish prices for bodies.
COND is a factory with its own WMI manufacturer code, so we issue the full set of conversion paperwork and the entry in the vehicle passport.
