Reefer body on a Mercedes-Benz Actros chassis

category Cpremium trimDhollandia tail lift
↔ body 6,200 × 2,600 × 2,500 mm▣ inside ≈ 36.6 m³

Refrigerated body on a two-axle Actros for intercity and warehouse logistics. A 6.2-metre body, 50 mm sandwich panel skinned in reinforced fibreglass outside and inside — that is what “premium” means here: the material is light, does not corrode and copes with temperature swings. At the rear, a tail lift by Dhollandia: the vehicle loads from the ground, with no dock and no forklift. The refrigeration unit is Elinge C5 — the duty is chilled, not frozen: the body cools but does not freeze. The photos show three identical bodies.

How this body is built

The project is based on a Mercedes-Benz Actros chassis.

Body type — refrigerated body, sandwich panel, external dimensions 6,200 × 2,600 × 2,500 mm. That leaves 6,100 × 2,500 × 2,400 mm, 50 mm panel inside: the panel thickness is subtracted on every side, floor and ceiling included. Usable volume is ≈ 36.6 m³ (6,100 × 2,500 × 2,400 mm), counted from the internal dimensions rather than by multiplying the external ones.

Doors: hinged rear.

The refrigeration unit is Elinge C5. Operating range: chilled duty, above zero — no freezing.

What is in the photos

  • Three identical bodies from one batch, front view
  • Actros cabs and the roof-mounted refrigeration units
  • The full side of the body, 6.2 m on a two-axle chassis
  • Body from the rear side, tail lift folded
  • Rear part body and tail lift Dhollandia
  • The Dhollandia tail lift in the folded position
  • Rear doors open, tail-lift platform lowered
  • Rear door latch close-up

Who it suits

A body with a refrigeration unit carries anything perishable: meat and fish, dairy, ready meals, flowers, medicines. The unit holds the set temperature while parked too, so the truck also suits distribution runs with long stops. Usable volume here is ≈ 36.6 m³ (6,100 × 2,500 × 2,400 mm) — the block above estimates the load in pallets.

We will build the same — to your size and your chassis

This body is not a catalogue item but a project we actually built. We will make the same one to your dimensions: length, width and height are calculated for your cargo and the chassis payload, rather than fitting the cargo to a ready-made size.

We also fit it to your own chassis: bring the vehicle, we take the frame dimensions, build the body, mount it and hand it over with the conversion paperwork.

If you are still choosing a chassis, we have the same body on other bases as well: Chevrolet Labo, DongFeng C31, FAW 1027, GAZelle Business 3302. They differ in payload, frame length and licence category.

How many pallets fit

A standard 1,200 × 800 mm europallet, single tier, no restacking. Internal dimensions with a 50 mm laying allowance — a pallet will not go in dead tight.

The layout scheme is on the right: it shows how the rows sit and how much room is left.

FAQ

FAQ about the Mercedes-Benz Actros reefer

The sandwich panel is skinned in reinforced fibreglass (FRP) outside and inside. Fibreglass does not corrode, does not freeze to the load, copes with temperature swings and washes down under pressure — unlike a metal skin, which blooms along edges and seams over time. It is also lighter, and on a 6.2-metre body every kilogram goes into payload.
Not every customer has one. A Dhollandia tail lift makes the vehicle self-sufficient: a pallet comes down onto the tarmac anywhere on the route, with no forklift and no waiting for a free dock. On shop and catering delivery this is usually the decisive argument.
External dimensions are 6,200 × 2,600 × 2,500 mm. Usable volume is counted from the internal dimensions: with a 50 mm wall that is 6,100 × 2,500 × 2,400 mm, about 36.6 m³. The internal volume is smaller by the panel thickness: here it is 50 mm.
Fifty millimetres is the working thickness for the chilled range and for short runs around the city and the region. For deep freezing and long-distance work 80–100 mm is fitted: the body stays in range longer and the unit cuts in less often. The thickness is selected by route and cargo, not “by default”.
Yes. A 6.2-metre body with a tail lift goes on any two-axle chassis of suitable payload — from the Hino 500 and Isuzu to the JAC N120 and JAC N200. The subframe changes; everything else carries over unchanged.
The price is the body plus the refrigeration unit plus the tail lift. Leave a request or write on WhatsApp and we will quote your configuration. COND does not publish body prices.
COND is a factory with its own WMI manufacturer code, so we issue the full set of conversion paperwork and the entry in the vehicle passport.
