A multi-temperature van on a GAZelle Next

category Btwo compartmentsrefrigeration unit Elingeside door

The GAZelle Next is spelled in several ways in Russian-language ads and searches. It is one and the same vehicle.

↔ body 4,250 mm⚖ chassis payload 1,500 kg

Two reefers from a single batch for mixed distribution. The body is split into two temperature compartments by an insulated bulkhead with a two-leaf door, each compartment has its own evaporator — frozen and chilled cargo travel on the same run. The refrigeration unit Elinge sits above the cab. The front compartment is reached through a side door on the right, the rear one through hinged doors with a folding ladder. The floor and the kerb along the bottom of the walls are chequer-plate aluminium. The chassis runs on gas: a propane cylinder under the frame and a GAS marking on the windscreen.

How this body is built is covered in the article about the multi-temperature van. Unit specifications — Elinge.

How this body is built

The project is based on a GAZelle NEXT A21R35 — 3,745 mm extended wheelbase, UMZ petrol with LPG chassis. Gross weight 3,500 kg — a category B licence is enough.

Body type — multi-temperature refrigerated body, sandwich panel, external dimensions 4,250 mm.

The floor is chequered aluminium. Doors: hinged rear plus a side door on the right, a folding ladder.

The refrigeration unit is Elinge, multi-temperature version — model to be confirmed. Fitted equipment: a chequer-plate aluminium kerb along the bottom of the walls, body lighting, mudflaps.

Why it is built this way

Ribbed aluminium flooring is chosen where cargo moves on trolleys: the sheet takes no moisture, hoses down and does not delaminate under wheels. It is heavier than plywood but outlasts it severalfold.

A side door changes distribution logistics: at each stop you open it rather than the whole rear portal — less cold escapes and the truck can park tight against its neighbour.

Who it suits

A body with a refrigeration unit carries anything perishable: meat and fish, dairy, ready meals, flowers, medicines. The unit holds the set temperature while parked too, so the truck also suits distribution runs with long stops.

We will build the same — to your size and your chassis

This body is not a catalogue item but a project we actually built. We will make the same one to your dimensions: length, width and height are calculated for your cargo and the chassis payload, rather than fitting the cargo to a ready-made size.

We also fit it to your own chassis: bring the vehicle, we take the frame dimensions, build the body, mount it and hand it over with the conversion paperwork.

If you are still choosing a chassis, we have the same body on other bases as well: Chevrolet Labo, DongFeng C31, FAW 1027, HINO 300. They differ in payload, frame length and licence category.

FAQ

FAQ about the multi-temperature van on a GAZelle Next

So that one vehicle carries frozen and chilled goods on the same run. A distributor with a mixed order — dumplings and dairy, ice cream and drinks — otherwise runs two trucks: two drivers, two fuel tanks, two lots of depreciation. Here the cargo splits between the compartments and the route stays single.
By an insulated bulkhead made of the same sandwich panel as the body walls, with a two-leaf door in the middle — you can see it in the photo with the rear doors open. Each compartment has its own evaporator, so the duties are held independently.
The front compartment cannot be reached through the rear doors without going through the rear one. The side door on the right gives direct access to the front compartment — at a stop the driver does not shuffle boxes but takes what is needed from their own section. On a narrow street it is also safer to unload from the pavement than from the carriageway.
Category B: the gross weight of the GAZelle Next is 3,500 kg. That is its main argument against medium-duty trucks — a driver is easier and cheaper to find. The chassis specifications are on the page GAZelle Next.
No. The engine-driven Elinge unit works the same whatever fuel the engine burns. The propane cylinder sits under the frame and takes no space beneath the body.
Yes, the bulkhead and the second evaporator are not tied to the GAZelle. For a longer body we take a unit one class up — we select by the volume of each compartment and by the duties required. How such a van is built we covered in a separate article.
More than a plain reefer of the same size: a bulkhead, a second evaporator and its pipework are added. How much more depends on how the volume is split and which duties each compartment needs. Leave a request or write on WhatsApp and we will send a quote. COND does not publish prices for bodies.
COND is a factory with its own WMI manufacturer code, so we issue the full set of conversion paperwork and the entry in the vehicle passport.
