Refrigerated GAZelle Next A21R35 with a Carrier CITIMAX 350

body 4,200 mmcategory BCarrier CITIMAX 350 unit6 europalletsLPG, propane

The GAZelle Next is spelled in several ways in Russian-language ads and searches. It is one and the same vehicle.

↔ body 4,200 mm13.3 m³⚖ payload 1,500 kg

A recent COND project: a refrigerated body 4,200 × 2,050 × 2,000 mm on the long-wheelbase GAZelle Next. With a 100 mm panel, 4,000 × 1,850 × 1,800 mm is left inside — that is 13.3 m³ and six europallets in three rows. The refrigeration unit Carrier CITIMAX 350 above the cab holds a mode down to −20 °C: enough for both chilled goods and frozen cargo. At the rear, hinged doors across the full width of the opening; inside the body is lined with galvanised sheet. The chassis runs on propane, the tank is under the frame — cheaper fuel and a longer range.

How this body is built

The vehicle is built on a GAZelle Next A21R35, 3,745 mm wheelbase chassis with a 3,745 mm wheelbase. The engine is UMZ EvoTech 2.7 petrol + LPG (propane), Euro 5. Gross weight 3,500 kg — a category B licence is enough.

Body type — refrigerated body, sandwich panel, external dimensions 4,200 × 2,050 × 2,000 mm. That leaves 4,000 × 1,850 × 1,800 mm, 100 mm panel inside: the panel thickness is subtracted on every side, floor and ceiling included. Usable volume is 13.3 m³, counted from the internal dimensions rather than by multiplying the external ones. In a single tier that is 6 europallets.

The interior lining is galvanised sheet. The floor is chequered aluminium. Doors: hinged rear doors across the full width of the opening.

The refrigeration unit is Carrier CITIMAX 350 — cooling. Operating range: down to −20 °C.

Why it is built this way

Ribbed aluminium flooring is chosen where cargo moves on trolleys: the sheet takes no moisture, hoses down and does not delaminate under wheels. It is heavier than plywood but outlasts it severalfold.

Walls and ceiling are lined with galvanised sheet — the factory standard for a van body: it shrugs off moisture, takes a pallet-corner knock and is replaced in sections rather than whole panels.

What is in the photos

  • The whole vehicle, front three-quarter view, body 4,2 m
  • Side body along its full length and gas cylinder propane for frame
  • Rear three-quarter view, hinged doors
  • The hinged rear doors closed, seal
  • Body inside: galvanised sheet, flat wall, rear the aperture in the whole width

Who it suits

A body with a refrigeration unit carries anything perishable: meat and fish, dairy, ready meals, flowers, medicines. The unit holds the set temperature while parked too, so the truck also suits distribution runs with long stops. Usable volume here is 13.3 m³ — the block above estimates the load in pallets.

We will build the same — to your size and your chassis

This body is not a catalogue item but a project we actually built. We will make the same one to your dimensions: length, width and height are calculated for your cargo and the chassis payload, rather than fitting the cargo to a ready-made size.

We also fit it to your own chassis: bring the vehicle, we take the frame dimensions, build the body, mount it and hand it over with the conversion paperwork.

If you are still choosing a chassis, we have the same body on other bases as well: Chevrolet Labo, DongFeng C31, FAW 1027, HINO 300. They differ in payload, frame length and licence category.

How many pallets fit

A standard 1,200 × 800 mm europallet, single tier, no restacking. Internal dimensions with a 50 mm laying allowance — a pallet will not go in dead tight.

The layout scheme is on the right: it shows how the rows sit and how much room is left.

FAQ

FAQ about the refrigerated van on a GAZelle Next A21R35

Six europallets. The internal dimensions are 4,000 × 1,850 × 1,800 mm: two europallets stand across the width, short side leading, and three rows along the length. The GAZelle NEXT comes in two wheelbases — 3,745 mm under a 4,200 mm body and 3,145 mm under a 3,200 mm one; payload is the same 1,500 kg for both, the difference is volume. A comparison of the two is on the page GAZelle Next.
A direct-drive unit runs off the vehicle engine: it needs no separate fuel tank and no second engine, it is simpler to service, and on city distribution with the engine running all the time it is cheaper than a self-powered unit. The trade-off: during a long stop with the engine off the cold is not maintained.
Down to −20 °C. The engine-driven Carrier CITIMAX 350 is rated for bodies up to 16 m³ in the sub-zero range, with a cooling capacity of 1,764 W at −20 °C and 3,286 W at 0 °C — ample for a 13.3 m³ body. The unit runs off the engine and needs no separate fuel. If the cargo must not be frozen in winter, body heating is added to the unit and costed separately.
The walls and roof are galvanised sheet; the floor and the kerb along the bottom of the walls are chequer-plate aluminium. You can see it in the photo with the rear doors open. A body like this hoses down and shrugs off roll cages: in store delivery it is exactly the lower walls and the floor that wear out.
Yes. The Carrier unit runs off the engine and does not depend on what that engine runs on. The cylinder sits under the frame and takes no space beneath the body. Gas makes the kilometre cheaper, and for distribution work of hundreds of kilometres a week that is a noticeable item.
Yes, the body is a series product. It is fitted to both wheelbases of the GAZelle Next and to the GAZelle Business, with the same specification: hinged rear doors, galvanised lining, an aluminium floor. The refrigeration unit model is chosen by body volume and range — the whole line-up is on the page Elinge.
The price is made up of the body and the unit. The unit is quoted from the Carrier price list, the body from its configuration: length, panel thickness, doors, interior fit-out. Leave a request or write on WhatsApp and we will send a quote. COND does not publish prices for bodies.
COND is a factory with its own WMI manufacturer code, so we issue the full set of conversion paperwork and the entry in the vehicle passport.
