Kia Bongo K4000 — chassis specifications and van price

LPG/petrol KIA THETA 2.4, 159 hp. Gross weight 3,500 kg, actual chassis payload 2,000 kg.

The Kia Bongo K4000 is the longer-wheelbase version of the Bongo III range, in demand in Almaty for urban logistics. In our specification it is Bi-Fuel: a KIA THETA 2.4 LPG/petrol engine producing 159 hp, with tanks for 71 l of LPG and 65 l of petrol — cheaper to run on urban routes, with enough torque in reserve to drive the refrigeration unit's compressor.

Quote is based on body, chassis and temperature range.

Which bodies we fit on the Kia Bongo K4000

We build and fit the body ourselves, preserving the factory chassis warranty.

A refrigerated van is an isothermal body plus a refrigeration unit: Carrier, Elinge or Kaida — selected to match the body volume and temperature range. We quote for your specific configuration.

If you need a shorter body, see Kia Bongo K2500 (wheelbase 2,615 mm). All bodies for Kia — on the brand page.

FAQ

What licence does a Kia Bongo need?
Category B. A Kia Bongo stays within 3,500 kg gross, so an ordinary car licence is enough — no separate category C. We size the body so the gross weight stays within that limit after fitting.
What engine does the Kia Bongo K4000 have?
In our specification it is the LPG/petrol KIA THETA 2.4 of 2,359 cc, 159 hp at 5,500 rpm, 23 kgf·m of torque, Euro 5. Tanks: 71 L of LPG and 65 L of petrol, 5-speed manual gearbox.
How much payload remains after the body is installed?
Per the documents the gross weight is 3,500 kg and the actual chassis payload is 2,000 kg. The body's own weight is deducted from that, depending on its type and length. Permissible axle loads are 1,550 kg front and 2,100 kg rear.
Which body fits the K4000?
The standard body is an insulated van of 4200×1900×1900 mm with about 3990×1735×1700 mm of usable space inside — enough for standard euro pallets.
How does the K4000 differ from the K2500?
Both models share the same engine — the 159 hp KIA THETA 2.4 — and both are registered at 3,500 kg gross. The difference is the wheelbase and body length: the K2500 has a 2,615 mm wheelbase and a body up to 3,000 mm, the K4000 3,350 mm and up to 4.2 m. The actual payload of the K4000 chassis is 2,000 kg.
How much does a van body for the Kia Bongo K4000 cost?
The cost is made up of the body and, for a refrigerated van, the refrigeration unit. We quote for your specific configuration: body length, temperature range and lining material. The chassis is purchased separately from a Kia dealer. Submit an enquiry — a manager will work out the figures and send you a quotation.
Is the chassis warranty retained?
Yes. We fit the body to the manufacturer's procedure and issue the paperwork required to register the design change.

The difference between the rows is the price of the refrigeration unit itself — the body and the work are the same. So choose by the temperature mode your cargo needs, not by the price of the vehicle.
