Refrigerated van on a FAW 1027 (T80) chassis

category B−20…+12 °CCarrier unit
⚖ payload up to 800 kg▣ volume 3 m³
This is the “little one” — a 1,300 mm body, 3 m³. We also build the same FAW 1027 with a tall 1,700 mm body of 5 m³ — the same footprint, two cubic metres more volume.

The smallest reefer in our range. The FAW 1027, also sold as the T80, is a Chinese light truck in category B: any driver with an ordinary licence can take the wheel, and it fits where a medium-duty truck cannot turn. This reefer is chosen for city rounds — courier delivery, pharmacies, coffee shops, small wholesale: when a GAZelle is too much volume but the cold has to be real.

How this body is built

The project is based on a FAW 1027 (T80) chassis with a 2,960 mm wheelbase. The engine is petrol CA4GX15, 1,495 cc, Euro 5, 102 hp (75 kW). Gross weight 2,005 kg — a category B licence is enough.

Body type: refrigerated — a body with a heating/refrigeration unit, external dimensions 2650 × 1650 × 1300 mm. That leaves 2,450 × 1,450 × 1,100 mm, 100 mm panel inside: the panel thickness is subtracted on every side, floor and ceiling included. Usable volume is ≈ 3.9 m³ (2,450 × 1,450 × 1,100 mm), counted from the internal dimensions rather than by multiplying the external ones.

Doors: rear swing doors plus a side door.

The refrigeration unit is Carrier Citimax 280 — the CITIMAX 280 lettering is legible on the unit cowl. Operating range: from −20 to +12 °C.

Why it is built this way

A side door changes distribution logistics: at each stop you open it rather than the whole rear portal — less cold escapes and the truck can park tight against its neighbour.

We will build the same — to your size and your chassis

This body is not a catalogue item but a project we actually built. We will make the same one to your dimensions: length, width and height are calculated for your cargo and the chassis payload, rather than fitting the cargo to a ready-made size.

We also fit it to your own chassis: bring the vehicle, we take the frame dimensions, build the body, mount it and hand it over with the conversion paperwork.

If you are still choosing a chassis, we have the same body on other bases as well: Chevrolet Labo, DongFeng C31, GAZelle Business 3302, HINO 300. They differ in payload, frame length and licence category.

How many pallets fit

A standard 1,200 × 800 mm europallet, single tier, no restacking. Internal dimensions with a 50 mm laying allowance — a pallet will not go in dead tight.

3europallets 1,200 × 800 mm

Inside 2 450 × 1 450 × 1 100 mm · 3,9 m³

The layout scheme is on the right: it shows how the rows sit and how much room is left.

Who a FAW T80 reefer suits

This is a budget refrigerated van in the literal sense: the vehicle, the body and the servicing all cost less than any medium-duty truck. The 1.5-litre petrol engine needs no pre-heater in winter, FAW parts are available in Almaty, and ordinary workshops handle repairs.

What matters about a light delivery reefer: the payload here is up to 800 kg, and the weight of the refrigerated body has already been deducted. If you carry pallets, look at a GAZelle or a Kia Bongo. If you have 20–40 stops a day with boxes and crates, the FAW 1027 does the job and saves on fuel and parking.

Refrigeration unit

We fit Carrier unit mounted on top — the unit sits on the body roof and does not eat into usable volume. The range runs from −20 to +12 °C: it suits frozen goods, chilled food and pharmaceuticals alike. On request we fit Elinge or Kaida, chosen to match the budget and the temperature range.

Body

A 50, 80 or 100 mm sandwich panel of our own manufacture, frameless — no thermal bridges along the ribs. Rear swing doors plus a side door: on a delivery round the side door saves time, so you do not walk around the truck and open the whole load space for a single box.

FAQ

FAQ about the FAW 1027 (T80) refrigerated van

We price it to your configuration: sandwich-panel thickness, unit model (Carrier, Elinge or Kaida), number of doors, lighting, interior fit-out. Leave a request or write on WhatsApp — we send separate figures for the body and the installation. COND does not publish body prices: the gap between a basic and a fully equipped build on this chassis is significant.
No. The FAW 1027 has a gross weight of 2,005 kg, which is category B: any driver with an ordinary licence can take the wheel. That is why this FAW reefer is chosen by courier services and delivery fleets, where category C drivers are harder and dearer to find.
The body measures 2,650 × 1,650 × 1,300 mm, with about 3 m³ of usable volume and a payload of up to 800 kg (the weight of the refrigerated body already deducted). If you need more volume at the same footprint, there is a version with a tall 1,700 mm body of 5 m³.
The unit works from −20 to +12 °C, which covers frozen goods, chilled food and pharmaceuticals. For Almaty summers we size the unit with spare cooling capacity — otherwise the temperature creeps up while the doors stand open.
By default a roof-mounted Carrier — the unit sits on the body roof and does not eat into usable volume. COND is the official Carrier dealer in Kazakhstan, so the warranty and the servicing are ours too. On request we fit Elinge or Kaida, chosen to match the budget and the temperature range.
From 14 working days once the configuration is confirmed. We build the body in our own shop in Almaty: sandwich panels, steelwork and unit installation all happen inside one production line, so the lead time does not depend on outside contractors.
Yes. State the make and model in your request and we will do the conversion while preserving the chassis manufacturer’s warranty. If you do not have a chassis yet, we will help pick one: for a refrigerated body it is not only the frame dimensions that matter but the spare capacity of the rear axle.
COND is a plant with its own manufacturer WMI code, so we issue the full set needed for registration: the conversion paperwork and the entry in the vehicle passport. We help you through certification — the truck can be registered and worked legally across Kazakhstan.
