A medium-duty reefer on a Kazakhstan-assembled JAC chassis. The refrigeration unit Elinge C4 sits above the cab, the evaporator under the body roof; the temperature control panel is brought into the cab, so the driver can check the duty without leaving the vehicle. The rear doors are hinged with a folding ladder, and the body is lit inside. A chequer-plate aluminium kerb runs along the bottom of the walls, with an aluminium side guard below along the flank.

How this body is built

The vehicle is built on a JAC N75, assembled in Kazakhstan by Allur chassis. The engine is Cummins ISF3.8, diesel. Gross weight 7,490 kg, so the driver needs a category C licence.

Body type — refrigerated body, sandwich panel.

The interior lining is galvanised sheet. Doors: hinged rear, a folding ladder.

The refrigeration unit is Elinge C4 — cooling and heating. Operating range: down to −20 °C. Fitted equipment: body lighting, a chequer-plate aluminium kerb along the bottom of the walls, an aluminium side guard, mudflaps.

Why it is built this way

Walls and ceiling are lined with galvanised sheet — the factory standard for a van body: it shrugs off moisture, takes a pallet-corner knock and is replaced in sections rather than whole panels.

A body with a refrigeration unit carries anything perishable: meat and fish, dairy, ready meals, flowers, medicines. The unit holds the set temperature while parked too, so the truck also suits distribution runs with long stops.

FAQ about the JAC N75 reefer

Yes, but the chassis will go by a different name. The JAC N75, N80 and N90 are one platform whose permitted gross weight rose step by step: 7,490 kg on the N75, 7,950 kg on the N80 and 9,030 kg on today’s N90. The engine and the body mounting points are the same, so the body carries over exactly.

So the driver can see the duty without leaving the cab or opening the body doors. On long-haul runs that is the only way to notice the unit has drifted out of its duty before the cargo spoils. We mount the panel on the dashboard next to the climate controls.

A folding ladder: stowed it sits flush against the rear bar, deployed it lets you step into the body without a ramp. On a medium-duty truck the body floor is high, and at sites with no dock a loader would otherwise have to pull themselves up by hand.

Category C: the gross weight is 7,490 kg, already past the 3,500 kg threshold. If you have no category C drivers, look at our projects on light chassis — light trucks run on a category B licence.
