Refrigerated van on a KAMAZ 43118

category C6×6, all-wheel drive100 mm panelElinge C5 Max
↔ body 6,200 × 2,500 × 2,500 mm❄ unit Elinge C5 Max

A refrigerated body on an all-wheel-drive KAMAZ 43118 — a truck for routes where the tarmac runs out. A 6.2-metre insulated body, a 100 mm sandwich panel wall, and an Elinge C5 Max unit over the cab holding the temperature. At 2,500 mm wide, two Euro pallets fit across. We build the same cold box on other KAMAZ chassis too — for rotational camps, food and pharma.

How this body is built

The project is based on a KAMAZ 43118 chassis.

Body type — refrigerated body, sandwich panel. That leaves 5,992 × 2,292 × 2,292 mm, 100 mm panel inside: the panel thickness is subtracted on every side, floor and ceiling included. Usable volume is 31.5 m³, counted from the internal dimensions rather than by multiplying the external ones. In a single tier that is 11 europallets.

Doors: hinged rear, cam-bar locks.

The refrigeration unit is Elinge C5 Max. Fitted equipment: folding ladder, rear underrun bar, contour marking tape.

What is in the photos

  • Cold box on a KAMAZ — rear swing doors
  • Insulated body on a KAMAZ, front three-quarter view
  • Van body on a KAMAZ 6×6, full side
  • Fitting a cold box to a KAMAZ: the Elinge C5 Max unit over the cab
  • Refrigerated body on a KAMAZ — ceiling evaporator
  • Insulated van on a KAMAZ — folding ladder and rear underrun bar
  • KAMAZ 43118 6×6 chassis — off-road axles and tyres
  • Refrigeration control panel in the KAMAZ cab

Who it suits

A body with a refrigeration unit carries anything perishable: meat and fish, dairy, ready meals, flowers, medicines. The unit holds the set temperature while parked too, so the truck also suits distribution runs with long stops. Usable volume here is 31.5 m³ — the block above estimates the load in pallets.

We will build the same — to your size and your chassis

This body is not a catalogue item but a project we actually built. We will make the same one to your dimensions: length, width and height are calculated for your cargo and the chassis payload, rather than fitting the cargo to a ready-made size.

We also fit it to your own chassis: bring the vehicle, we take the frame dimensions, build the body, mount it and hand it over with the conversion paperwork.

If you are still choosing a chassis, we have the same body on other bases as well: Chevrolet Labo, DongFeng C31, FAW 1027, GAZelle Business 3302. They differ in payload, frame length and licence category.

How many pallets fit

A standard 1,200 × 800 mm europallet, single tier, no restacking. Internal dimensions with a 50 mm laying allowance — a pallet will not go in dead tight.

11europallets 1,200 × 800 mm

The layout scheme is on the right: it shows how the rows sit and how much room is left.

FAQ

FAQ about reefers and cold boxes on a KAMAZ

By the wall. In a dry freight van it is sheet over a frame; in an insulated box it is a sandwich panel with insulation — here 100 mm. Such a body slows the warming of the cargo by itself, and with a refrigeration unit it becomes a reefer. From the outside the difference is barely visible, which is why an insulated body on a KAMAZ is often mistaken for an ordinary box.
For routes where the asphalt ends: shift camps, construction sites, oil and gas fields, remote farms. An ordinary delivery truck will not get there, and food and medicines still have to be carried. The 6×6 drivetrain and the ground clearance decide whether the vehicle gets through, and the body slows the warming of the load all the way.
On this chassis we build a dry freight van, an insulated body, a reefer and a curtain-side flatbed. The difference is the wall and the equipment; the mounting to the frame is the same — we calculate the subframe for the specific KAMAZ model.
It is the top model in the Elinge range — chosen for volumes from 25 m³ and for sub-zero duty. It mounts over the cab and costs no load volume. The exact temperature regime is matched to the cargo: chilled and frozen are different settings and different margins.
Yes. The KAMAZ 43118 is well over 3,500 kg gross, which means category C. We build category-B reefers on light chassis — they are collected in the “Vehicles” section.
We price by configuration: body length, panel thickness, refrigeration unit model and fittings. Leave a request or write on WhatsApp and we will send a quote. COND does not publish prices for bodies.
