Insulated van body on a Hyundai HD35L chassis

insulated body, no unitgalvanised insidecam-bar locks
🧊 sandwich panel🔩 lashing rings

A light-duty isothermal van for city distribution: a body made of sandwich panel but without a refrigeration unit. Such a “thermos” slows warming: the cargo arrives at almost the temperature at which it was loaded — enough for chilled goods on a short run, for baked goods, flowers and medicines that must not travel in the heat. Inside, the body is lined with galvanised sheet on the walls and roof, the floor is laminated plywood, and lashing rings for securing the cargo are set into the rear sill. The rear doors are hinged, with rod locks, reflective tape and orange corner reflectors around the body, an underrun bar and a step below. If cold is needed later, this body takes a refrigeration unit, the panel is ready for it.

How this body is built

The body is built on a Hyundai HD35L chassis. Gross weight up to 3,500 kg — a category B licence is enough.

Body type — insulated (temperature-holding) body, sandwich panel.

The interior lining is galvanised sheet — walls and ceiling. Doors: hinged rear doors, rod locks, perimeter seal.

The refrigeration unit is none — the body only slows heat exchange; a refrigeration unit is fitted on request. Fitted equipment: reflective tape, orange corner reflectors, rear underrun bar, step.

Why it is built this way

Walls and ceiling are lined with galvanised sheet — the factory standard for a van body: it shrugs off moisture, takes a pallet-corner knock and is replaced in sections rather than whole panels.

What is in the photos

  • The whole truck, front three-quarter view
  • The body side along its full length
  • Rear three-quarter view, hinged doors with a red border
  • Body inside: galvanised lining, floor of laminated plywood
  • Rod latches the rear doors and badge COND
  • The whole truck from the other side

Who it suits

An isothermal body does not produce cold — it slows heat exchange with the outside. Such a van is chosen for short runs and for cargo loaded already chilled: bread, confectionery, drinks, groceries.

We will build the same — to your size and your chassis

This body is not a catalogue item but a project we actually built. We will make the same one to your dimensions: length, width and height are calculated for your cargo and the chassis payload, rather than fitting the cargo to a ready-made size.

We also fit it to your own chassis: bring the vehicle, we take the frame dimensions, build the body, mount it and hand it over with the conversion paperwork.

If you are still choosing a chassis, we have the same body on other bases as well: FAW 1027 (T80), Foton 5163, GAZelle Next A21R32, GAZon NEXT. They differ in payload, frame length and licence category.

FAQ

FAQ about the insulated van body on a Hyundai HD35L

An insulated body has no exact figure: it does not make cold, it slows the loss of it. On a city route with frequent stops chilled cargo arrives in condition; for long distance under a strict regime a refrigeration unit is needed — the panel is ready for one.
Category B: the chassis gross weight does not exceed 3,500 kg. An ordinary driver with a car licence can drive it; no separate category is needed.
Galvanised sheet on the walls and ceiling. The floor is laminated plywood, with lashing rings on the rear sill for straps. A body like this washes down and takes the knock of a trolley.
Vertical rods with a lever: they press the door leaf against the seal at the top and the bottom at once. The door does not warp under load, no gaps are left, and it cannot swing open on the move.
Yes. The body is already a sandwich panel, so only the unit and its power supply are added. We pick a model for the required regime — compact units suit the HD35L body volume.
