Insulated van on a JAC N200 chassis

category Cbody up to 9.5 m3 wheelbases
⚖ payload up to 13.5 t↔ body 6.2 / 8.2 / 9.5 m

The flagship of the JAC range for a large insulated body. The N200 has a Cummins ISD285 with 271 hp and 1,006 N·m, an eight-speed manual, 19,980 kg gross weight and a payload of up to 13.5 t. The chassis comes with three wheelbases — 4,200, 5,300 and 6,200 mm — and each takes its own body: 6.2, 8.2 and 9.5 metres. This is intercity and trunk distribution across Kazakhstan, where volume matters more than manoeuvring in a yard.

Three wheelbases — three body lengths

The JAC N200 comes with a wheelbase of 4,200, 5,300 or 6,200 mm. The wheelbase decides what body length will fit without overloading the rear axle:

WheelbaseBody lengthVolume (2.5 × 2.6 m inside)
4,200 mm6.2 m≈38 m³
5,300 mm8.2 m≈50 m³
6,200 mm9.5 m≈58 m³

The usable body length is the wheelbase plus the rear overhang within the axle-load allowance. We fix the exact length for your wheelbase with an axle-load calculation: rear-axle overload on a long body is the most common reason a truck fails a weighbridge check.

Who a JAC N200 insulated van suits

A JAC N200 insulated van is chosen when the load needs volume rather than cold: appliances, furniture, packaging, paper, boxed building materials, groupage. A 9.5 m body takes 15–16 Euro pallets in a single tier, and the truck stays two-axle: cheaper to run and easier to staff than a three-axle.

The Cummins ISD285 delivers 1,006 N·m from 1,200 rpm — on the highway with a full body the truck holds its speed without constant shifting. Air brakes with ABS and an eight-speed gearbox: the long Almaty — Astana leg is an easy run for it.

Body

A 50, 80 or 100 mm sandwich panel of our own manufacture, frameless — no thermal bridges along the ribs. On long bodies we take the thickness towards the upper end: the greater the wall area, the more the insulation matters. Rear swing doors, a side door on request. The floor is chequered aluminium and the inner lining is continuous so a pallet cannot tear the wall.

An insulated body is the same body as a reefer, only without the unit. If cold is needed later, the body is fitted with a unit and becomes a refrigerated van — the van itself does not need rebuilding.

How this body is built

The vehicle is built on a JAC N200 chassis. The engine is Cummins ISD285 50 diesel, Euro 5, 271 hp. Gross weight 19,980 kg, so the driver needs a category C licence.

Body type: insulated — without a refrigeration unit, external dimensions 6.2 / 8.2 / 9.5 m — to suit the wheelbase. That leaves up to 2.5 m wide, up to 2.6 m high inside: the panel thickness is subtracted on every side, floor and ceiling included.

Doors: rear swing doors, a side door on request.

Why it is built this way

A side door changes distribution logistics: at each stop you open it rather than the whole rear portal — less cold escapes and the truck can park tight against its neighbour.

We will build the same — to your size and your chassis

This body is not a catalogue item but a project we actually built. We will make the same one to your dimensions: length, width and height are calculated for your cargo and the chassis payload, rather than fitting the cargo to a ready-made size.

We also fit it to your own chassis: bring the vehicle, we take the frame dimensions, build the body, mount it and hand it over with the conversion paperwork.

If you are still choosing a chassis, we have the same body on other bases as well: FAW 1027 (T80), Foton 5163, GAZelle Next A21R32, GAZon NEXT. They differ in payload, frame length and licence category.

FAQ

FAQ about the JAC N200 insulated van

It depends on the wheelbase. The chassis has three: 4,200 mm gives a 6.2 m body, 5,300 mm an 8.2 m body, 6,200 mm a 9.5 m body. The usable body length is the wheelbase plus the rear overhang within the axle-load allowance, so we fix the exact length for your truck with an axle-load calculation.
A 9.5 m body takes 15–16 Euro pallets in a single tier, an 8.2 m body 13–14, a 6.2 m body 10. The exact number depends on whether they are loaded lengthways or crossways.
We price it to the configuration: body length, sandwich-panel thickness, doors, lighting, fit-out, tail lift. Leave a request or write on WhatsApp — we send separate figures for the body and the installation. COND does not publish body prices: the gap between a basic and a fully equipped build on this chassis is significant.
It is the same sandwich-panel body, only without a refrigeration unit. An isothermal body slows the warming of what was loaded, while a reefer creates the temperature actively. If cooling is needed later, a unit is added to the body — the van itself does not have to be rebuilt.
For 8.2 and 9.5 m bodies we take the thickness towards the upper end of the 50–100 mm range: the greater the wall area, the faster the temperature drifts. On a short 6.2 m body the basic option is enough.
Category C: the gross weight is 19,980 kg. This is a heavy truck — a 271 hp Cummins ISD285, an eight-speed gearbox and air brakes with ABS.
From 14 working days once the configuration is confirmed. The body, the steelwork and the installation all happen in our own shop in Almaty, with no outside contractors in the chain.
COND is a plant with its own manufacturer WMI code, so we issue the full set needed for registration: the conversion paperwork and the entry in the vehicle passport. We help you through certification.
