Insulated van on a GAZon NEXT with a side door

category C100 mm panelside doorstandard specification
↔ body 5 200 × 2 500 × 2 500 mm▣ panel 100 mm

An insulated van 5.2 m on a GAZon NEXT — the workhorse of city and regional distribution. The body is 2,500 mm wide, so two euro pallets fit across, and at 5,200 mm long that means eight pallet places in a single layer. The wall is a 100 mm sandwich panel, the same as under a reefer: cargo loaded chilled holds its temperature for the whole route, and if a refrigeration unit is needed later the body is already prepared for it. What sets this project apart is the side door in the right side wall next to the cab: at a stop you can take out a couple of boxes without opening the rear portal and letting the whole load space warm up. At the back are hinged doors with cam-bar locks, red contour tape runs around the opening, and side underrun protection runs along both sides.

Insulated van on a GAZon Next: the questions we hear most

People search for this truck in many ways: insulated van GAZon Next, insulated box on a GAZon, thermal van GAZon, insulated body on a GAZon, body for a GAZon Next, box body on a GAZon Next. They all mean the same thing: a sandwich-panel body without a refrigeration unit that holds the temperature of cargo loaded already chilled. We build these bodies in Almaty for a specific chassis rather than adapting an off-the-shelf box.

Why a 100 mm panel and not 50

Fifty millimetres is enough when the cargo travels for an hour or so and the weather is mild. A hundred is headroom: the body holds its range longer in the heat and stays suitable for a reefer if you decide to fit a refrigeration unit later. The body itself does not have to be rebuilt — only the equipment changes.

The side door: when it pays for itself

With more than five or six stops a day a side door saves both time and cold. The rear portal is opened fully only for loading; for deliveries the side door is enough. It is fitted in the right side wall next to the cab, with a cam-bar lock and a seal around the full perimeter, so no heat gets in through it.

What else we build on a GAZon NEXT

On the same chassis we build a dry freight vans, refrigerated bodies and drop-side platforms. The rest of the marque’s trucks are on the GAZ page.

FAQ

FAQ about the insulated van on a GAZon NEXT

For routes with frequent stops. Two or three boxes come out through the side door without opening the rear portal, so the cold does not pour out and the driver does not have to walk around the truck and swing both leaves open every time. On shop deliveries that saves minutes at every stop and degrees across the whole run.
The 2,500 mm width lets euro pallets stand across, two per row. At 5,200 mm long that is eight places in a single layer. The exact layout depends on your packaging, and we work it out during the quote.
The panel is the same; the difference is whether a refrigeration unit is fitted. An insulated body preserves the temperature of whatever was loaded into it but produces no cold of its own. A reefer cools actively. This body is built with a 100 mm wall, so if a unit is needed later it is fitted to the existing body with nothing to rebuild.
Category C — the gross weight is above 3,500 kg. This is a medium-duty truck, not a category B delivery van.
Yes — the length is calculated for the chassis wheelbase and for your pallet layout. The 5,200 mm here is this project’s size. Tell us what you carry and in what packaging and we will work out the dimensions and the weight of the body.
With galvanised steel sheet. It takes a hit from a pallet corner or a trolley, it can be hosed down and it does not delaminate. We fit FRP plastic where a smooth white surface is needed for food inspection.
