Insulated body on a Hyundai HD260 chassis

category C100 mm panelready for a unit
▣ volume 43.2 m³❄ panel 100 mm
This chassis is out of production. The Hyundai HD260 is no longer built, so this project cannot be repeated on that chassis. We make the same body on current heavy chassis — we will match an equivalent by length and payload.

A heavy-duty insulated body on a three-axle Hyundai HD260 chassis. The body is 8,200 × 2,550 × 2,500 mm in 100 mm sandwich panel, 43.2 m³ usable. There is no refrigeration unit — the body slows the cargo warming or cooling rather than creating a temperature. It can be fitted with a unit later: the body is already prepared for one.

How this body is built

The project is based on a Hyundai HD260 chassis.

Body type — insulated body, sandwich panel. That leaves 8,000 × 2,350 × 2,300 mm inside: the panel thickness is subtracted on every side, floor and ceiling included. Usable volume is 43.2 m³, counted from the internal dimensions rather than by multiplying the external ones.

Doors: hinged rear + side.

The refrigeration unit is none — the body is prepared for a unit.

Why it is built this way

A side door changes distribution logistics: at each stop you open it rather than the whole rear portal — less cold escapes and the truck can park tight against its neighbour.

Who it suits

An isothermal body does not produce cold — it slows heat exchange with the outside. Such a van is chosen for short runs and for cargo loaded already chilled: bread, confectionery, drinks, groceries. Usable volume here is 43.2 m³ — the block above estimates the load in pallets.

We will build the same — to your size and your chassis

This body is not a catalogue item but a project we actually built. We will make the same one to your dimensions: length, width and height are calculated for your cargo and the chassis payload, rather than fitting the cargo to a ready-made size.

We also fit it to your own chassis: bring the vehicle, we take the frame dimensions, build the body, mount it and hand it over with the conversion paperwork.

If you are still choosing a chassis, we have the same body on other bases as well: FAW 1027 (T80), Foton 5163, GAZelle Next A21R32, GAZon NEXT. They differ in payload, frame length and licence category.

How many pallets fit

A standard 1,200 × 800 mm europallet, single tier, no restacking. Internal dimensions with a 50 mm laying allowance — a pallet will not go in dead tight.

Inside 8 000 × 2 350 × 2 300 mm · 43.2 m³

The layout scheme is on the right: it shows how the rows sit and how much room is left.

FAQ

FAQ about the insulated body on the Hyundai HD260

An insulated body does not create cold: the sandwich panel slows the cargo warming or cooling. A refrigerated body is the same body plus a unit that creates and holds the temperature. So an insulated body is cheaper and suits short runs.
Yes. The 100 mm panel is designed for a temperature regime, so the body takes a unit without rework: the unit goes above the cab and the evaporator inside.
On the HD260 itself — no, the chassis is out of production. We make the same body on current three-axle chassis.
