Dry-freight van on a Foton Aumark chassis

category Cbody 5,200 mm5-tonne chassis
↔ body 5,200 × 2,200 × 2,200 mm▣ inside ≈ 23.8 m³

Dry-freight body on the medium-duty Foton Aumark chassis: a 5.2-metre body and a chassis payload of 5 tonnes. The wall is 25 mm and there is about 23.8 m³ inside — furniture, appliances, boxes, packaged building materials. Inside, the body is lined with galvanised sheet and the floor is chequer-plate aluminium: it washes down and takes a pallet truck without concern. At the rear are hinged doors across the full width of the opening.

The Foton Aumark is a medium-duty truck serviced by ordinary workshops in Kazakhstan: parts are available and repairs are cheap. Five tonnes of payload in a footprint that still fits city streets and most yards.

More about the design on the page dry-freight bodies. We build the same body as an insulated version too — see insulated vans.

How this body is built

The vehicle is built on a Foton Aumark (6514 badge on the cab) chassis.

Body type — dry-freight (non-insulated) body, external dimensions 5,200 × 2,200 × 2,200 mm. That leaves 5,150 × 2,150 × 2,150 mm, 25 mm panel inside: the panel thickness is subtracted on every side, floor and ceiling included. Usable volume is ≈ 23.8 m³ (5,150 × 2,150 × 2,150 mm), counted from the internal dimensions rather than by multiplying the external ones.

The interior lining is galvanised sheet. The floor is chequered aluminium. Doors: full-width rear hinged doors.

Fitted equipment: reflective contour tape, rear bar.

Why it is built this way

Ribbed aluminium flooring is chosen where cargo moves on trolleys: the sheet takes no moisture, hoses down and does not delaminate under wheels. It is heavier than plywood but outlasts it severalfold.

Walls and ceiling are lined with galvanised sheet — the factory standard for a van body: it shrugs off moisture, takes a pallet-corner knock and is replaced in sections rather than whole panels.

Who it suits

A dry van is about volume and protection rather than temperature: furniture, appliances, building materials, boxed goods, removals. The cargo is shut away from rain, dust and prying eyes. Usable volume here is ≈ 23.8 m³ (5,150 × 2,150 × 2,150 mm) — the block above estimates the load in pallets.

We will build the same — to your size and your chassis

This body is not a catalogue item but a project we actually built. We will make the same one to your dimensions: length, width and height are calculated for your cargo and the chassis payload, rather than fitting the cargo to a ready-made size.

We also fit it to your own chassis: bring the vehicle, we take the frame dimensions, build the body, mount it and hand it over with the conversion paperwork.

If you are still choosing a chassis, we have the same body on other bases as well: GAZelle Business 3302, HINO 300 (side opening), Iveco Daily 50C15, JAC N120. They differ in payload, frame length and licence category.

How many pallets fit

A standard 1,200 × 800 mm europallet, single tier, no restacking. Internal dimensions with a 50 mm laying allowance — a pallet will not go in dead tight.

FAQ

FAQ — dry-freight body on a Foton Aumark

About 23.8 m³. External dimensions are 5,200 × 2,200 × 2,200 mm with a 25 mm wall, so inside it is 5,150 × 2,150 × 2,150 mm. External dimensions must not be multiplied out — the panel eats the thickness on every side.
The chassis carries 5 tonnes, and the weight of the body comes out of that. For furniture and boxes the limit is usually volume rather than tonnes; for building materials it is the other way round.
With galvanised sheet; the floor is chequer-plate aluminium: it washes down with a hose and takes trolley traffic. That is the standard specification of a dry-freight body.
Category C: the Foton Aumark gross weight is above the 3,500 kg threshold.
Yes, we fit a hinged side door on request — on multi-drop work it saves time. It has to be decided before the body is built: a door changes how the side wall is reinforced.
By the panel. In a dry-freight body it holds shape and load but does not keep temperature. An insulated body is built from a sandwich panel with insulation — dearer and with less internal volume.
