A curtainsider body on a DongFeng C120L: 6,850 × 2,500 × 2,500 mm, two europallets across. It loads from three sides — through the curtains on both flanks, from above by crane and from the rear through hinged doors. Sliding posts open a 6.5 m clear span for side loading, as on a semi-trailer: a forklift places the pallet anywhere in the body instead of dragging it in from the rear. The roof is translucent PVC, so it is light inside by day without a lamp. The chassis belongs to the customer: we build the body both on a new chassis and on the one you already own. Warranty 2 years or 100,000 km.

How many pallets fit

A standard 1,200 × 800 mm europallet, single tier, no restacking. Internal dimensions with a 50 mm laying allowance — a pallet will not go in dead tight.

Who the DongFeng C120L curtainsider suits

Curtainsider on a DongFeng C120L is chosen when a van is more than you need but an open platform does not protect the load. Packaged furniture, appliances, building materials, profile and pipe, groupage — anything that fears rain but needs neither cold nor an airtight body.

A 7,690 kg payload and a 6.2 m deck — eight Euro pallets in a single row. A Cummins ISF3.8S5168 with 166 hp and 592 N·m from 1,300 rpm and air brakes with ABS: this truck is built for the highway, not just the city.

How the curtain is built

Tilt sliding, on a frame with cross members. Inside, wooden battens run along the sides: they hold the curtain’s shape and keep the load from rubbing the fabric. Tensioners along the bottom secure the sheet so it does not flap on the highway or wear through at the seams.

Loading works from three directions: slide the curtain and load along the whole side with a forklift; remove the cross members and load from above with a crane; open the rear swing doors and load from the back. A closed van cannot do that.

What else we fit

Aluminium side guards to safety requirements. On request: stanchions for pipe and profile, lashing rings and rails, a tail lift. If you do not need the curtain, we build the same body as an open flatbed platform, and the frame with the curtain can be added later.

FAQ about the DongFeng C120L curtainsider

They open a continuous 6.5 m span for side loading — almost the whole length of the body. The forklift puts each pallet straight in its place instead of pushing it the length of the body from the rear doors. Standard on semi-trailers, here carried over to a medium-duty truck.
In rigidity and in how it loads. A van has solid walls and one way in — the rear. A curtainsider opens along its whole side and takes a crane load through the roof. The trade-off is security: a curtain can be cut, a van wall cannot.
Daylight passes through the white PVC, so the cargo is visible without a lamp or wiring. During daytime loading that noticeably speeds things up.
PVC from 650 g/m². A dense fabric: it holds the tension of the curtain mechanism, does not stretch out over a season and takes frost without cracking.
Yes — this truck was built exactly that way, on a chassis the customer brought in. We take the frame dimensions, build the body for your logistics and mount it. The reverse works too: we will find a new chassis to suit the body size you need.
