This chassis is not currently supplied to Kazakhstan. Hino is not imported into the country, so we cannot repeat this project on that chassis. We fit the same body to chassis that are available — we will find an equivalent for your delivery round.

The short ice-cream van on a Hino 300

A eutectic van on a Hino 300 with a 4,200 mm body is a truck for urban delivery of ice cream and frozen convenience food. Four loading hatches per side: the seller walks up to the right section and takes out the boxes without opening the whole load space or climbing inside. On a round with a couple of dozen stops that is the main saving — of time and of cold alike.

Why eutectic rather than a reefer

Inside the body there are eutectic plates — cold accumulators. They freeze overnight from the mains and give the cold back during the day, holding −33 °C with the engine off. The body is rated for freezing down to −40 °C. On the route the truck is silent: no compressor, no noise, no fuel spent on cold and no defrost at every stop — the hatches open for seconds and cold air, being heavy, stays inside.

Body

A 120–140 mm panel — twice as thick as on an ordinary reefer, because deep freezing allows nothing less. The floor is covered with ventilated mats that keep boxes off the surface so they cannot freeze to it. The hatches have reinforced latches and reflective markings run round the body.

Chassis

The Hino 300 is a Japanese medium-duty truck: a 4-litre 165 hp turbodiesel, six-speed manual, 5-tonne chassis payload, category C. Hino is not currently supplied to Kazakhstan, so we cannot repeat the project on this exact chassis — we build the same body on JAC, FAW and GAZ. We help pick a replacement from your round: number of stops, load weight, route length.

The project is based on a HINO 300 chassis. The engine is turbo diesel, 4 L, 165 hp.

This is a eutectic — a body with deep-freezing down to −40 °C; externally the body is 4,200 mm.

Operating range: −33 °C (eutectic plates).

Who it suits

A eutectic body charges from the mains overnight and holds sub-zero all day with the engine off — the classic ice-cream truck and city distribution of deep-frozen goods.

This body is not a catalogue item but a project we actually built. We will make the same one to your dimensions: length, width and height are calculated for your cargo and the chassis payload, rather than fitting the cargo to a ready-made size.

FAQ about the Hino 300 ice-cream van

A eutectic body has no compressor running on the route. Inside there are cold-accumulator plates: they freeze overnight from a socket and give the cold back during the day, holding −33 °C. The truck spends no fuel on cold, makes no noise at the stops and does not defrost at every one of them.

A full overnight charge of the plates lasts a working shift of urban delivery with a normal number of openings. The exact time depends on the outside temperature, the load and how often the hatches are opened — we calculate it for your route.

A hatch is opened for seconds and only over the section needed. Cold air is heavy and stays in the body, and the seller never climbs inside. On a round with a couple of dozen stops that saves both time and cold.

The working mode is −33 °C and the body is rated for freezing to −40 °C. The 120–140 mm panel is twice as thick as on an ordinary reefer — deep freezing allows nothing less.
