Bodies on Chevrolet chassis

Chevrolet Labo. The body is fitted without voiding the chassis manufacturer’s warranty.

About the Chevrolet chassis

In the commercial segment in Kazakhstan, Chevrolet means the Labo — an Uzbek light truck based on the Damas, category B. The vehicle is 1,400 mm wide with a 4.3 m turning radius, 1,150 kg gross weight and a 550 kg chassis payload. A body on such a chassis is worked out from the free length of the frame: our refrigerated body on the Labo is 2,500 × 1,500 × 1,400 mm with 3.6 m³ inside, which is two europallets in a single tier.

FAQ about Chevrolet

A body about 2.5 metres long. On our project this is a 2,500 × 1,500 × 1,400 mm refrigerated body with a 100 mm panel: 2,300 × 1,300 × 1,200 mm is left inside, that is 3.6 m³ and two europallets in a single tier.
Category B. The chassis gross weight of 1,150 kg is well under the 3,500 kg threshold, and fitting a body does not take it above.
The chassis payload is 550 kg, part of which the refrigerated body itself takes up. That is little for pallet work — a GAZelle or a Kia Bongo is used there; for boxes, crates and thermal containers on an urban route the volume and the payload are enough.
Yes. The chassis is brought to Almaty, the body is built for it and mounted on a subframe. The chassis factory warranty stays intact and the change of design is documented.
