A 15 mm galvanised mounting strip: it clamps the sealing cord to the panel edge along its whole length. Narrow — for rubber that sits right on the edge.
Without the strip the rubber would have to be screwed through: it tears at every hole. The strip spreads the clamping load along the whole band and the fixings never touch the working lip.
